The Divine Prince ‘s insight:

Everyone

On Wednesday, January 8, 2013 Stephen Kenyatta Simon made his transition to the Ancestor World. Kenyatta was a student of Alfred Uganda Roberts and a pioneer in percussion in New Orleans. He introduced the Djembe drum to New Orleans and trained hundreds of young people and professionals.

He performed and recorded with the Dirth Dozen Brass Band, Nicholas Payton, Charmaine Neville, the Neville Brothers. Earl Turbington and many more great New Orleans artists. He was a founding member of the Kumbuka African Drum & Dance Collective and Percussion Incorporated.

This Sunday, January 12, 2013, there will a Big Drum Circle in Congo Square from 2-5pm. Please bring monetary donations towards
his HomeGoing Services. Our goal is to raise $5,000. If you are going to write a check, make it out to his wife, Darlena Hamilton.
Help us spread the word and join us this sunday in Congo Square.

For more information call 504.495.0463.

Peace & Blessings
